Gymnastics Career

At the Australian Championships in 2006, she finished 3rd. Later that year, she represented Australia at the World Championships in Aarhus, Denmark, contributing to Australia's 6th place finish, and coming 189th in the all-around qualification.

At the 2007 Australian Championships, struggling with a death in her family, she only managed a 7th place in the individual all-around. She still managed to attend 2007 World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany, as a reserve.

At the 2008 Australian Championships/Olympic Trial 1, having just recovered from an ankle injury, she managed 5th AA and continued to improve quality and consistency to secure a position on the Olympic team for Beijing '08.

At the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Bonora surprised pundits by finishing highest amongst the Australian girls, finishing 13th in the all-around individual finals, and assisting the Australian Women's team in achieving its best ever Olympics result, finishing sixth in the team competition.

Bonora underwent surgery on both her ankles to remove ankle spurs in November 2008 but showed little indication of walking away from competition. In 2009 she competed on balance beam only at the Victorian State championships but demonstrated great progress in her recovery, working hard in training to regain her difficult skills. Her determination has paid off, as she was recently named to the 2009 World Gymnastics Championships team to London. She will compete alongside Waverley clubmate Shona Morgan, Lauren Mitchell and Larrissa Miller.

At the 2010 Australian National Championships, Georgia claimed her first national title. She then went on to compete at the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games, where she won a Gold medal in the Team Competition, a silver medal on the Uneven Bars and a bronze medal in the Individual All-round. Immediately after the Games she competed at the 2010 World Championships where she came 14th in the world and the Australian team came 6th.

Georgia is 1.60m (5'3") tall and weighs 49kg (108lbs).
